TPO - Part 5: Single Prints

To fully understand this lesson we strongly recommend you study: Footprint, Volume and all prior TPO modules.

Single Prints are comparable to a wick on a typical candlestick chart.

Remember a wick at the low is a Buying Tail and a wick at the high is your Selling Tail.

Single Prints occur in the middle of price action, this will be explained in greater detail in this tutorial.

This template can be found pinned in the Contenders Discord section and here.

3:33 – SINGLE PRINTS

  • Single prints are like a wick on a candlestick but in the middle of the price action
  • Daniel trades them in the same way he trades gaps. The top of the SP is resistance but if we see acceptance into the SPs, expect them to be filled.
  • SPs are highlighted in the blue shade in the middle of the profile
  • If the price is trading above a row of SPs, we expect the top of the SPs to act as support
  • If the price is trading below a row of SPs, we expect the bottom of the SPs to act as resistance
  • If price gets acceptance into the SP area we expect the SP rows to be filled

12:03 – BUYING AND SELLING TAILS

  • They are like SPs but they are formed at the low (BT) and high (ST) of the TPO profile.
  • If you see a BT or ST it is considered to be a time when the larger trader has stepped in quickly to reject the price.
  • If a high is formed with no BT or ST it is classed as a ‘poor high or low).

13:22 – POOR HIGHS/LOWS + EXAMPLES

  • A poor high or low is a profile with no BT or ST.
  • If there is no ST, for example, you expect the high to be taken out, to either move up higher or for a SFP to create a ST.
  • If there is no ST you would favour longs, as it shows larger traders are not stepping in to heavily defend the level.

24:01 – SINGLE PRINTS

  • To form a row of SPs, BTs or STs you need to see at least three single blocks.
  • Daniel prefers to see 5 but this is context-dependent (the more SPs that you see, the more reliable it is).
  • It is important to ALWAYS check the Volume and OI inside of the BTs and STs.
  • It is best to see an increase in volume in the BT and ST.
  • If the OI increases too in the BT/ST that is considered very bullish/bearish and shows many trapped traders.
  • If there is no major increase, Daniel would not trade off of the tail (unless it is a very major pivot high or low).
